These were written referring to King George of England – today we have many tyrants who have absolved themselves from fulfilling the oath of office they swore. The majority of the 535 men and women holding congressional office, as well as the Executive Branch and innumerable appointed bureaucrats are the tyrants of today.
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
A) Executive privilege and executive orders B) Stonewalling legitimate inquiries into the details of governmental functions. C) Holding themselves above “We the People” in accountability to the rule of law.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
Nullification by the several States. The Federal Government holds themselves above the will of the people and the States. The Federal Government exists by the consent of the people to SERVE the people, not to arbitrarily rule by edict.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
The “Federal Purse” (the contents of which are extorted from the States) is now used to enforce the Federal will on the States, and on the people. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights was specifically written to reduce “the tyranny of the majority”. The Federal purse is used to entice, coerce and corrupt State and local governments (local law enforcement in particular) into line with Federal policies.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
Washington DC is as uncomfortable and distant from the people – and the expressed will of the people – as is possible. Where the original Legislative Branch carried out their duties as quickly as possible so they could return home to continue their farming and businesses. Today being a member of Congress is a full time job. This separation of legislators from those they “represent” is corrupting of the purpose for which they serve – serving to stifle the voices of the people represented.
Does anyone realize that if we followed the Constitution we would have over 5,000 Representatives in the House? That would make our Representatives much more accountable to the will of the people, maintaining some resemblance of ethical behavior.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
Today, it is “law” by decree – bureaucratic regulations put into force by unelected, unaccountable “agencies” are held by the Judicial Branch to be equivalent to constitutionally sound legislation – which is the sole provenance of the Legislative Branch, the House and the Senate.
Also worthy of note is the hurried passage of Federal Law without time for study of said Law, and reasoned discourse over it’s details. Think back to the passage of “Obamacare” – shoved into the faces of our representatives with the rejoinder “We have to pass it before we know what it contains”. Pure foolishness to my thinking, especially on the part of those members of Congress who ALLOWED this to be crammed down their throats rather than carry out their constitutional duty to those they purport to represent.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
The select group of bureaucrats who administer all of the regulatory agencies are exempted from accountability and election – thus to the will of the people.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
There is a bit of a reversal here; Unrestricted immigration to flood the country with people beholden to the Federal Government for freebies..and to not toss them back across the borders until they immigrate legally.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.
Recess appointments.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
Note the multitude of “Alphabet Agencies” and appointed “Czars” who now rule by edict and whim rather than by rule of law set forth by the legislative branch of government after debate and voting as duly elected representatives of the people.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
Note: A) The militarization of local police, with the carrot of “Federal funds” dangled before them.
B) Increasing use of fraudulently sworn search warrants to obtain “help” from the military.
C) The ever expanding scope of the Department of Homeland Security. i.e. Traffic control checkpoints to demand papers – warrantless searches at not only airports, but now train and bus transportation – DHS buying enough ammunition to support the hottest year of war in Iraq ~for TWENTY YEARS (enough to cover their historical “training needs” for a century.
D)The “Patriot Act” – which allows domestic warrantless spying on an unprecedented scale, INCLUDING Federal agents writing their own secret search warrents with no judge involved, no probably cause and no oversight. To top it off, telling anyone at all that you have been served one of these self written search warrants will get you in prison…even telling a judge while you are under oath…prison.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
United Nations: note the continued attempts at imposition of “global governance” by way of the U.N. and U.N. mandates and treaties.
For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
Again, the “Patriot Act” and its unprecedented level of snooping and prying into the private affairs of citizens.
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
“Police Safety” is preached to the militarized police forces, and used as justification for murder, under the “color of law”.
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
National Defense Authorization Act, that allows the kidnapping and unlimited imprisonment, without trial or review, of any person in the world, including US citizens.
For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:

Absolute contempt and wanton disregard for the intent of the Constitution that founded this nation.

A politician is not a “King”, they are elected to serve – now it has become serving themselves and protecting only their own. War is being waged against the citizen’s freedom, every day, a bit at a time.
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people
